Those who are close to me can tell anyone that I am a big supporter of not only Cancer Research but also of our American Military. Having two ancestors who signed the Declaration of Independance might have been just the thing to kick start my patriotism. I have many relatives who dedicate their time right now to protect us. I have cousins in Japan and in the Middle East. And I have family sprinkled all across the USA serving the country we love! I remember the days when all of us would play secret garden in the woods, or when 6 kids in swim suits would climb in a bathtub on a hot day. It’s hard for me to image them all grown up flying jets, fighting the front lines, and working intelligence. It was so sweet when I would sing at family functions and they would say that they looked up to me... and now a day doesn’t go by when I think of how brave and incredible they are, and now I look up to them. I love them so much.
I wanted to show my family and friends in the military how much I care for them, so I decided to write a song about a war vet who came home and was lost in the system and eventually became homeless. It’s from my point of view realizing everything he has been through and if only I had the ability to see his memories... Id see he’d mean the world to me. Do you know that 23% of the homeless populations are veterans? I titled my song "Homeless Hero" and I am excited to head into studio to record with Michael Flores producing once again. I will also make this song my first radio single in Texas and proceeds from the single will go to the National Boot Campaign and Houston Star of Hope!
Thank you to everyone who serves our beautiful country, you make me so humbled to be your friend.
